Harvey Begay (1939-2009)
Harvey Begay did not start his career as a jeweler even though he grew up in his father’s shop and had many family members who were Navajo artists. Harvey’s father, Kenneth Begay, was among the most famous Navajo jewelers. Harvey went to school, studied aerospace engineering, and later became a test pilot for the United States Navy as a flight officer. This is a beautiful example of a 14k gold coral ring Harvey made around the 1990’s. Harvey signs his jewelry HB, and his contemporary designs are recognized worldwide.
