Andy Lee Kirk was the IACA Artist of the Year in 1996 and won multiple awards at the Sawia Indian Market. This is a fine piece of jewelry meticulously inlaid to depict a Long Hair Kachina. Andy hand-carved the ironwood to resemble hair and inlaid the face with coral, black onyx, and fine-line gold accent spacers. This Kachina is wearing a necklace that is set with opal, turquoise, and coral while the earrings which delicately dangle are sugilite, turquoise, and coral beads. On the back side of this 14k gold pendant, Andy chased in gold the same Kachina design. This would look excellent on either a neck wire, beads, or leather cord. I just admire the detail Andy was able to achieve on this wearable art piece.
